AIM 62 Safety Blanket wash

Description:
'62C' Safety Blanket Wash has, as the name suggests, a flashpoint over 62 degrees Centigrade (ASTM D93).  In accord with Worksafe and other safety initiatives currently in place, we have developed `62C' as an effective, high flashpoint, blanket wash.  

In summary, AIM '62C' offers the user the following major benefits;

• Conforms to press manufacturers requirements (Man Roland Approval)

• Fast effective cleaning of both Soya and conventional inks

• High flashpoint, non-flammable, flashpoint 64degrees C

• Rapidly removes ink and paper build-up, glaze on blankets and rollers, resulting in a 'deeply cleaned' highly receptive surface

• Cleans dampener rollers and restores resilience and softness

'62C' Safety Blanket Wash  

Listed below are the various applications and methods of use for '62C', all of which have been field proven. 

1. MANUAL WASH This will result in a low odour, fast acting blanket wash for manual washing to rapidly remove ink build-up, even after long runs.  '62C' is a low V.O.C. (Volatile Organic Compound) rated Blanket and Roller wash and as such will offer the operator the benefits of a low odour wash, even when used in confined spaces.  '62C' is also available in a fully water miscible version - '62C' Type 'M', which allows water to be added up to a ratio of 50%.  Experience in cleaning some of the larger presses has shown that there are two methods commonly used.

Method 1 : Using '62C' solution neat.

Step 1:- Use 'Hot' water on a clean cloth to remove paper dust, gum, fount residues and to destroy water soluble glaze.  Hot water will also assist in softening the 'Build up' on the blankets often experienced after long runs particularly on high speed presses such as the Man Roland "Newsman 40".  This water may then be discharged down the drain.  Check with local authorities to confirm that this is acceptable practice.  

Step 2:- Apply '62C' to blankets using clean cloths.  Although '62C' contains no water, it is compatible with any residual water that may be present.  '62C' will rapidly remove all types of ink, glaze etc.  and will leave the blankets correctly prepared for ink receptivity.

Method 2 : Using '62C' Type 'M' Water Miscible Formula

Step 1:- Dilute '62C' Type 'M' with up to 50% hot or cold water to form a stable milky emulsion.  Apply to blankets and rollers to rapidly destroy glaze, lint, ink residues etc.  Repeat if required.

Special Note:

Using '62C' daily in accordance with the above methods to clean blankets, rollers and bearers will result in the following major benefits;  * Extend blanket and roller life Reduce amount of solvent waste removal.

2. AUTO WASH '62C' is being successfully used in Baldwin Auto Wash-up units with approvals from Japan, Germany and The United States '62C' will not attack rubber seals or diaphragms and is non-corrosive to steels, alloys etc.  62C is used neat or diluted with water.  Note:  62C (type MP)  -  will give total water miscibility and will not separate or phase out, a critical characteristic.

3.CLEANING DAMPENER ROLLERS AS A TWO-STAGE SYSTEM

Step 1:- Apply neat '62C' to rollers either through a cleaning machine or by hand.

Step 2:- Mix '62C' with approximately 10% to 20% water and rinse rollers to produce a thoroughly deep cleaned surface, whilst restoring resilience and softness.

'62C' is effective on cotton, woollen or synthetic covers and will remove ink, varnish, fountain salts and gums.

4. ANCILLARY CLEANING

'62C' is an excellent cleaner for floors, painted machinery surfaces, or as a safety degreaser for machine parts.

Floors: Dilute up to 50% with hot water, mop on, mop off '62C will remove oil, grease, ink gum and glue residues, and dry to leave a non-slippery surface.

Machines: Use as above for cleaning down metal parts or painted surfaces.  May be used with hot or cold water.

Degreaser: '62C' is ideal as a general degreaser as well being able to be used in a re-circulating degreasing unit for parts washing etc.  When used in conjunction with our 'Edge Tek' filter system it will provide an extremely long solution life with replacement filter cartridges being available to ensure a clean fluid at all times.  Information has been enclosed for your reference with pricing available upon request.
